About

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me!

Below you will find information about the approach I take to my work, along with information about where I exhibit, my memberships, and the causes I support.

My approach

I have a varied approach to my work.  I love many styles and mediums and my messages are more important than using the same approach to my work.  From stylised realism to illustration, I love it all!

Some of my paintings are based on what I see in the natural environment, and some are from my imagination.  My environmental paintings address our relationship to climate change, pollution, and corporate greed, and are informed by media and scientific articles and reports. I combine humor and irony with liberal doses of absurdism to amuse and challenge viewers to have cultural conversations on our impact on the environment.

I also love to celebrate nature, and I get a great deal of pleasure from painting nature in all forms.  Colour plays a powerful role in my work, and I use both analogous and complementary colours as a means of expression.

Where I exhibit

My artworks are exhibited in galleries and shows around New Zealand - and you can find out where my paintings are showing by clicking here.

I also exhibit internationally through Saatchi Art in the USA, and with The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS organization and Manhattan Arts International in New York.

The exhibitions and awards I am particularly proud of include exhibiting work in The Garzoni Challenge, curated by the Uffizi Gallery in Italy; receiving four excellence awards through Manhattan Arts International, New York (wow, wow, wow!), and being a finalist in several shows including Craigs Aspiring Art Prize, the Wellington Regional Arts Review, and receiving a Special Recognition Award in the “All Women" Art Exhibition in Santa Fe.
