This is an original oil painting on canvas measuring 15cm square (6 x 6") x 3.5cm deep. The artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity and is ready to hang.
 
I sketched and photographed “Matuku”, or white-faced heron on the West Coast of New Zealand.  It was on its own and was foraging for food between the rocks at low tide.  I could have stayed there watching for some time, however there was a male fur seal approaching and I felt it was safer to retreat.
