Story
This bird naturally survives on Great Barrier Island, but thankfully there are some scantuaries on the mainland of NZ that allow us to see them.  The photo I've taken of the male Hihi is in full song to attract a mate.  I love the unique colour of the bird with its yellow band around its chest and white tufts on its head.  Stitchbirds are curious of humans and often approach us for close examination - they are gorgeous birds!
 
Measures 15cm square (6 x 6") x 3.5cm deep. The artwork is ready to hang.
