Story
I made firm friends with this Takahe who was very curious of me when I sat quietly nearby, and it decided to come close to me to check me out. This little painting is detailed using a micro-brush and took me two days to paint using oil paint in multiple layers.
“Takahē” are only found in New Zealand. Once thought to be extinct, their population has been brought back from the brink through recovery programmes. They are flightless and talk to each other in slow, deep squark-like sounds. Information sourced from the Department of Conservation and Zealandia.
Measures 21cm square (8.26 x 8.26") which includes a 3cm border for framing purposes . The artwork comes unframed, and will arrive in an acid free enclosure.
